the Hydronic Wood Boiler is an indoor boiler. So your choice begins right from the start. Indoor or
Outdoor? But don’t base your decision based solely on the location of the boiler. Let’s start with
the Specifications of each boiler and see which is rated better.
The Aspen Series Outdoor Boiler is a residential boiler and they have are
designed to save you about 70% of your heating bill. One reason for that is the Aspen is said to
use about 50% less wood than other Wood Boilers. The Aspen Series Wood Boiler runs clean and burns
through 99.9% of the wood that you put in. This leaves no room for ashes or smoke to pollute the
environment.
You can use the Aspen Series Outdoor Wood Boiler for Baseboard, Radiant or
Forced Air heating Systems. The Aspen Series has a Digital Control Panel, perfect for the homeowner
to be able to see how the boiler is operating and if they are any problems with the unit. The Aspen
has a Built In Exhaust Curtain, which will help the smoke from the wood to flow through the
standard exhaust. It basically is a way to control the flow of smoke.
There are 2 models available in the Aspen Series one is rated for 100,000
BTUH and can heat up to 7,000 square feet and the second is rated for 230,000 BTUH and can heat up
to 12,000 square feet. These ratings are based at an 8-hour Output capacity. The Aspen has a
limited warranty of 10 years in internal furnace parts and a 1-year warranty on other
parts.
The Hydronic Wood Boiler is a residential application like the Aspen Series
but this boiler is an indoor boiler.
