The oil burner blower wheel has is also located inside the oil burner
unit as well, and this is usually checked to see if its clean and free spinning. The
squirrel cage blower wheel normally will not get
replaced during an oil burner tune up. It most cases this will out last the boiler itself. If you
are required to change this part then the good news is that blower wheels are not that expensive
and are stocked at most boiler replacement part warehouses like Sid Harvey’s , Blackman
Plumbing,
Ferguson Plumbing and many other local
plumbing supply houses.
The oil filter is another important part of the boiler tune up as well.
Depending on how much fuel and how much the boiler runs will determine how dirty the filter is but
it is recommended to change it on a normal tune up service.
The oil burner transformer is a part that commonly will get replaced by your
oil burner service tech. The transformer may have to be replaced for a number of reasons like age,
corrosion, faulty equipment etc. It is recommend that a licensed professional changes the oil
burner transformer.
The oil burner electrodes will most likely have to be adjusted on the time of
the tune up as well for max ignition. This is a general service that is repaired all the time by
professionals and can be done in a few minutes by a trained oil burner mechanic.
Adjusting the burner flame is very important and is only recommended to do by
someone that is fully trained in oil burner repair because this could take several adjustments of
the air intake and the C02 level has to be checked as well. Please make sure to call a licensed
professional to do this for you.
