Munchkin Boilers may just be the most compact boiler you have ever seen. The size of the boiler makes it possible for the Munchkin to be installed in any size basement. Like other boilers it is a high efficiency boiler rating of 92%. It has 5 models included in the series. The Input BTUH ranges from 18,000 to 199,000.

All of these boilers come with standard features. The Munchkin Boilers come with a Direct Vent System with Schedule 40 PVC piping. The body of the boiler is 316L stainless steel. The controls are state of the art design and it has an environmentally friendly modular parts construction.

The boiler has a sealed combustion system making efficiency more attainable. This is achieved by the system only using outside air for combustion purposes and the flue gas from the exhaust.

This is can be set up by using a simple Schedule 40 or 80 PVC Pipe.

The Munchkin Boiler Series will also have a venting length minus the fittings on the intake and the exhaust will run up to 85 feet for 2 inch and 3 inch standard pipe sizes and up to 125 feet with 4″ size pipe. PVC can also be used here to install. There are no special sizes or fancy materials used to run any pipe on this series of boilers. The boiler has a low supply temperature as well as a quiet operation mode. These will also help in the area of efficiency.

The boiler has a ¾ gas connection on the right side of the unit. Making installation easy, there are no abnormal connection sizes. The venting systems are easily located at the back of the boiler; all parts are readily accessible for easy service and inspection.

The complete Heat Exchanger is made with a 316L Stainless Steel combustion chamber. It is fully insulated and contained in a plastic enclosure. This design was created to help remove any condensation from the back of the exchanger. The tubes in the heat exchanger are put together in a header along with o-ring seals that are placed inside a stainless steel banding material. This process also helps keep the heat in and the heating cost low. The heat exchanger alone has a 12 year limited warranty on parts and labor.

The Munchkin Boiler Series also gas an easy to read digital controller instrument. The controller comes with a spark or a hot surface igniter. Part of the job of the control is to fix the firing rate of the boiler at the same time you are keeping the desired temperature.

The temperature display should have an operating temperature range of 50 degrees Fahrenheit to 203 degrees Fahrenheit. The digital display box will also have an ECO manual reset button. All boilers are tested 100% before they are sold to the public.

In a nutshell the Munchkin Boilers work when the room is calling for heat, the control board inside the boiler will call on the pump to start to check on the return water temp of the boiler even before the heat starts to come on. Then the when the controller gets the information that the return water temp has fallen below the temp that the thermostat was set it, it will not ignite the boiler and the heat gets distributed.

You may think that just because the unit is small and compact that it will not work the same as other boilers do. But the truth is that the Munchkin Series Boilers will work the same if not better than other units.

All you have to do is shop around and find out for yourself. These models are perfect for basements that don’t have a lot of room. They are energy efficient and they are competitively priced. You will also get a 12 year limited lifetime warranty. You can’t go wrong with a Munchkin; the only thing you will lose is a hefty heating bill.
