How to Clean & Inspect a ADE Filter

D.E. pool filters are commonly used on many pools and from time to time they will have to be taken apart and cleaned out so hat they can operate and full efficiency.

This is how professional pool tech’s clean out a Hayward 3600 pool filter.

Step One:

Remove the multi-port from the filter and then loosed and remove the belly band.

 

Step Two:

Once the belly band is removed yiu can now take off the top cover of the filter, You may need to insert a flat head screwdriver into the crease of the filter to help pry it apart. Also make sure you have opened the air relief on the filter as sometimes you can have a vacuum inside the tank.

Step Three:

Remove the vertical filter grids from the tank by pulling straight up and gently twisting the grid assembly to the left and the right at the same time. Once you have the grids removed spray then down with the garden hose until all the excess DE and debri is removed.

Step Four:

Inspect all filter parts, o-rings and grids to make sure that nothing is cracked ripped or teared and of course if you do find something broken or damaged you will want to replace it.

Step Five:

Re-assemble the filter and reconnect it to the multi=port. Once everything is connected start the pump and add the DE to the skimmer and then check your pressure gauge.
